The Latest on The Google Algorithm Update on 10 August 2020- August 11, 2020 - Views: 18
A lot of people tweeted and discussed at various social places and channels discussing the tremors felt in the ranking of almost all websites. We have analyzed the fluctuations deeply and here are the findings. All these findings may or may not be true as these are purely based on our observations and analysis.
These may also vary from industry to industry.
What is this update about?
Google has not yet confirmed any algorithm update as of now. We don’t even know if this actually is an update that has rolled out or has started rolling out. This can actually be a bug in Google but we think this is the beginning of the Page Experience Update rolling out.
We are not merely stating it without any observations. We have closely monitored some of the keyword rankings and have gone to the depth of why the rankings fluctuated.
Here is Google Webmaster Twitter channel’s latest tweet, but this too doesn’t state anything as such:
We are happy to announce support for Article structured data in the Rich Results Test tool. Read more about the markup in our developer documentation https://t.co/8osWelZNwu or test your pages at https://t.co/AGp8xwSsDK pic.twitter.com/YjuomwwnMl

What to expect from the August 2020 Update?
As we already know that Google previously announced that it will be rolling out its Page Experience update in 2021, but it seems Google doesn’t want to wait for so long. Even in the covid-19 pandemic Google has been quite active in updating algorithms.
We can only expect that the search results would be more precise than ever before, because Google will now probably be considering Page Experience as a ranking factor.
Even if your website has good authority, you can be placed below your competitor for the sake of page experience as stated by Google.
Millions of website owners are going crazy over this sudden pulse of ranking fluctuation.
But believe me; you don’t need to worry about it.
Industries that got affected
Almost all the industries got affected by this. Which industry got affected the most and which was the least affected cannot be said as we do not have enough data to determine it. We can only determine that the data which we have tells us that all the industries were impacted and this gives us a sense of something big coming.
How can we secure ourselves from this Update?
First of all, stop panicking.
If you remember, this happened long back when Panda was introduced and most of the website owners who were using Black-hat seo techniques were affected. It is quite clear when you should be worried and when not.
If you are obeying all the guidelines provided by Google, you are always in a safe zone.
Just in case you are not adhering to Google’s policies, I’m afraid you might fall in the pit hole.
Protection from future Algorithm Updates
Nothing can stop your website from being affected by Google’s algorithm but you can ensure that your website doesn’t get negatively impacted by it.
The only way to stay secure from being negatively affected by algorithms is to learn and follow what Google’s guidelines have to say about website quality and ethical SEO techniques.
There is no update from Google about what is going on and what influenced search results to change. As per our observations, either Google has started considering the page experience protocols mentioned in the previous announcements or it is a bug.
